Mine Made Adventure Park
Mine Made Adventure Park is one of the largest OHV destinations in the eastern United States by raw acreage: 63,000 acres of reclaimed coal land across Knott County and portions of Breathitt, Floyd, Magoffin, and Perry counties in the heart of the Kentucky coal country. The scale enables a trail network that can absorb high visitor volumes without congestion: approximately 150 miles of green, blue, and black rated trails cover the primary system, supplemented by a separate 32-mile network specifically designated for dirt bikes and 50–100 miles of equestrian trail operating on the same property. The reclaimed coal land setting defines the terrain character: bench roads carved into the old contour-mine profiles, reforested spoil areas now covered in second-growth hardwood, and the long views across the hollows and ridgelines of Knott County that emerge when the trail reaches high ground. ATVs and UTVs up to 70 inches wide, dirt bikes, and registered Jeeps and SUVs are all permitted on appropriate route designations. Riding fees are $10/vehicle per day, among the lowest day-use rates of any destination-scale park in Kentucky. The campground infrastructure matches the park's scale: 90+ RV sites at $45/night, 90+ tent sites at $20/night, and 6 cabin rentals at $125/night. Office hours are Monday through Saturday 8am–4pm; trails are open year-round (606-634-5012).
